Student loans exist for a reason
good luck paying off that high interest rate.  If you are really smart, you should apply for a BOG Fee waiver or financial aid.

R u sears.

very.

don't be butthurt if you are the topic of discussion and its unfavorable. these types of people are exactly what's wrong with the economy, demanding solutions that are selfish, and makes the economy even worse.

whats the best way to bring the value of the dollar up

Raise wages, raise taxes!
Print more money!
Wow what good ideas I love our government!

why dont we go to a gold backed currency
american dollars used to be

As much as I think that these workers have the nerve to demand a raise when it's their choice to have so many kids at a young age and drop out of college and/or high school, the US has a minimum wage which is way too low, quite frankly. Other countries beat us with the minimum wage such as New Zealand and Australia, and many other developed ones. $8 an hour is just not enough to get by, and we can't expect everyone to go to college or not have babies young, all we can do is try to treat our youth as best as possible. Every generation deserves the best.

And I guess the best we can give them is inflation.

You get paid what you put in. People who don't have an education shouldn't get paid much because they didn't put in the time and effort to try and get a better job. Also, Teenagers working to get some extra money don't need that much money. They don't have bills to pay.

yeah but putting money into the economy isnt a bad idea

Many teenagers might come from a poor big family, and maybe they are unable to bring in money to the household - which means the teenager has to bring in an income to the family.

Minimum wage isn't for people living on their own. By then they're expected to have the capability to get a real job. A higher minimum wage means higher taxes. Companies fire people to make up for the lost revenue. Unless high taxes and unemployment is good idk??

I'm not, I'm 17, attend high school in Connecticut, am enrolled in AP US Government and I plan on attending college. What I think your not understanding is that this is a matter of closing the wealth gap in the US atm. It's not for selfish means at all. How can you say its for selfish means when they are asking for something so small in comparison to the people making 7 figure incomes. And your idea that it's their fault they ended up on the lower end of the spectrum is the largest amount of bullstuff I have ever read.

And all you other idiots saying that its all because they dropped out of high school or they have a family with a ton of kids pull your heads out of your ass. It is no question that a lot of lower income families are like that, I'm not denying it. But college costs a stuff load of money and not all poor kids can become really smart and get a ride of some sort, colleges can't pick every single one of them. I am willing to bet that if you were to have been raised in a family that was poor, did not have money for college, had no place to turn to, you would more than likely be doing the same thing and working at a low income workplace.

this isnt the 1930s
