Some kids got a snow day off here, and then it didn't start snowing until like 7:30-8:00.

Note:  You aren't getting out because of snow, you're getting out because of the ice forming on the road ways, I've seen a town get half an inch of snow and school got out, I've also seen a town where they get 4' 1/2' snow and was still in school just fine.

Snow can make a difference at like two feet, but I doubt you're getting that...

I live in the Midwest, I imagine both.

I live in mid east, so my seasons are constantly changing, and are oddly unusual this year, last spring we got about 3 inches of snow, I get a lot of snow for a guy that lives in the mid east.

Snow in North Carolina looks exactly like the first image when its heavy.
