There are multiple news links such as KTLA 5, CBS, but here's the only video of the news recording I could provide.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0fqZ6pn2o8The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) has just added F18 fighter jets to the Santa Tracker to give it more of an "operational feel" (Assuming that this is to make it feel like Santa needs to be protected, either way I think it's cool). They are to follow him and protect him over restricted airspace, and many people are calling it militarization and saying that the world owns Santa, not the US. But here's my opinion.
1. "Militarization, Oh No!" Well it is NORAD, they're a military group and they have the right to do that. And besides, if you go up to a kid and tell them that fighter jets will be protecting Santa, they won't be confused or hurt like the protesters said - I mean come on, don't put words in their mouth. Is it that hard to tell them that the jets are protecting Santa?
2. "World owns Santa" Well yeah of course it does, but let's be honest: this is an American tracker run by an American organization. If you're offended that the US military can put fighter jets owned by the US military on their US military-owned website, then go to one of the other thousands of websites.
You can see NORAD's video here.
