what are you gonna use it for

not trying to point anything out but there is no huge bold text  like this that says a specified graphic card brand but the i7 processor and I generally don't have a good opinion about Acer laptops.
that's just my opinion please don't yell at me for it

edit: actually it has a NVidia gtx card. nvm.

It will perform pretty good on games for a laptop.  But, ask yourself if you want a 17.3 inch laptop that weighs 7.1 lbs and will probably lack on battery life.  My lenovo is 15.6 inch and 6 lbs with dual GT 650m's.  It gets 3 hours of battery life sitting there barely browsing the web.  Gaming is better on a desktop PC, I only have my laptop with power because I like my photography on the go.

For schoolwork, consider something with less weight/size and better battery life. and use leftover money for a good desktop.

yeah it says it in the specs

Graphics   NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760M

I would, but that's when I move to a bigger house so I can get a bigger desk for my room.

not too sure about the processor speed but it everything else looks good

Do this if you can

Towers typically sit on the floor.  It really is the best option, a 400-500 dollar laptop and the rest to a pretty decent gaming desktop.

I hope you realize that a 17" laptop is massive.

A 15.6" is much more moderate and the GUI doesn't take up half the screen.

It looks like a great laptop, but I don't recommend having a 17 inch laptop. I had a 15 inch laptop a few years ago, and even that was too big. I think 13 is much more appropriate for school.
