Author Topic: Is there a way to get rid of cavities?  (Read 2720 times)

I was at the dentist recently for a cleaning and apparently I have 2 cavities and I have an appointment for them in February. I hate getting my mouth frozen and I  hate getting fillings since the freezing does jack stuff and they wont just gas me and put me out of my misery. I know this is a stupid question but is there any way to get rid of cavities without having a filling from the dentist?

cavities are basically something that rots out your tooth slowly you can't really just get rid of them because that part of the tooth is already dead

nitrous oxide doesn't really help. your teeth will still hurt anytime you hear the sound of a dentist's drill, and the stuff the dentist does himself will still hurt
just be glad that you don't have to go through it without any kind of numbing

I had a shallow cavity removed once. It honestly didn't hurt, the drill gave me a slightly nauseating sensation but that was about it. I don't know about how deep your cavities are though.

You can't brush away cavities or anything. Your best bet is just to get the filling and start practicing better hygiene.

Relevant:

I just had all of my wisdom teeth removed... while I was numbed. They didn't put me down then and I went through the loving horrid pain of wisdom teeth removal while I was still awake.

Cavities are really nothing, just get them filled and ask for that little kid mouth flavoring they put in there so you won't be tasting anything weird after.

Cavities are just holes in your teeth. Once they are their, they are there permanently. The only thing you can do to prevent more cavities is to brush your teeth when you wake up and before you go to bed.

yeah fillings are probably the only way to go. if the cavities aren't that deep then you can just take it like a trooper and go without the numbing stuff.

pour cement in your mouth

Brush your teeth? There really is no other way. Personally, having cavities filled doesn't bug me all that much, but for how expensive it is I guess I should take better care of my teeth.

remove your cavitied tooth

this is pretty much the best suggestion

don't eat like stuff then not brush your teeth?

Gargle Bleach, I heard that helps...

There isn't really any way to get rid of them, beside getting them filled in. Speaking of which, I'm going to a dentist's appointment today at 1:00 PM. I have one cavity to be filled in. What's weird is that my twin brother had none and he never brushes his teeth and has candy and sweets daily, and I brush my teeth twice a day, eat healthy, don't have sweets or candy and still had a cavity.
