Author Topic: Transparent textures on weapons?  (Read 1259 times)

I posted this in Modification help but that board is just dead and no one goes there.

I've ran into a problem while trying to add a transparent colored glass texture to a holographic sight on a weapon I made.

I use milkshape when modeling and when I export, I make sure to set the materials to translucent and additive. Additive makes it glow annoyingly (as seen below)

The glare completely makes it impossible to see it, but when I look in another direction, this happens:

I also tried not flatshading the glass and the result was this: (I already know the result from exporting using dts plus with non flatshaded parts, this was just an experiment.) BTW this was done on a textured block. It was originally colored blue but I dont know HOW it ended up being colored white on one side and red on the other.

and

I also tried turing off docolorshift and setting it to false, but that did nothing.

I also tried setting the LOD of the model's glass to different numbers, including 1, 35, and 85. anything other than 100 makes the glass COMPLETELY INVISIBLE.

Is there a way to fix this?

Bump because I still need a valid fix.

Don't have a transparent material, Torque has always been bad with transparency and you will have a lot of x-ray vision cases with it.

basically that, you're better off just not having anything there

Well alright then. Thanks anyways. I'll keep the thread up in case someone actually does find a fix though.
