Author Topic: Remedies for sore throats  (Read 2191 times)

So, I have been ill for the past 2 days. Having to deal with a sore throat while on these 2 days was -and still is- down-right awful.

I was tired of the flu's crap.

I stumbled down to my alchemy table kitchen and created a remedy, of some sorts. Not sure if it gets rid of it permanently, But it makes it go away for a while.

EDIT: Someone made this before me and used better ingredients. Huh. Adding them now....

Ingredients:
  • 2 Lemons (have to be somewhat sour)
  • Mountain Dew/Milk
  • Honey

Step 1
Start by squeezing the lemons and put the juice in a cup. Make sure you don't get the seeds, we wouldn't want you choking.

Step 2
Pour in the Mountain Dew, or Milk if you prefer. It's going to fill most of the cup, take a sip if it overflows a bit.

Step 3
Add in as much honey as you like. I think the more honey you add, the longer it lasts.

Step 4
Drink up and wish that sore throat goodbye.

I can vouch for this remedy. I've saved so much money on cough drops and bleach with this technique!

too bad mountain drew has disgusting gross amounts of sugar in it.

use milk instead.  the actual real remedy that you've "discovered" and just listed is a commonly known at-home (and actually more potent than over-the-counter flu medicine) remedy.

milk with honey/lemon/both is well known to be soothe sore throats.  honey has natural ingredients in it to help soothe sore throats and is probably like the only natural thing to do so in it's raw form.

Ok, mind if I add that to the thread?

so you just randomly mixed some things
and they work
for the intended purpose

randomly?

nvm saw nick's post

Assuming you state you didn't 'invent' it as per the topic title, I don't see any reason why he would considering it's general knowledge.

Or you could use cough drops and drink tea.

That involves less steps and less stuffty soda.

Or you could give someone a lewinsky

go right ahead!  the more that know, the better.  every sore throat, i make honey/milk.

i prefer to heat the milk first, then add in raw honey (i've never really done lemons before usually because i'm too lazy to squeeze them) (also heating raw honey in the microwave may damage the compounds in raw honey that help soothe the throat so that's why i add it in later).

yes please adjust the title because you didn't invent this really
