Need Opinions for a new Antivirus Program

I'm sick of using McAfee due to it's horrendously tedious firewall.
Does anyone use any good antivirus programs that can take McAfee's place?
Free and cheap is nice.

I suggest avoiding this. A year or so back they had a bug in the whole system which caused the Antivirus to see everything as a virus and it started deleting every file on your computer rendering it useless.

Lol, show me the article. I can't find it by searching Bitdefender virus false detection bug. Therefore I do not believe you.
