I know nothing about computers..

Please don't assume I'm just talking about pre-built, I will build them.

Be more specific please. Put the price range not just "Lowest budget" then we can help you :/

Like, I'd say, $400-$650

you should build your computer. i was inspired to build mine from the computer megathread. it's so fun to do.

I was thinking about doing that, I know that it's the better option.

By the way, I'm not picky about type - I'd enjoy a laptop a little more, but a desktop works fine too

I agree with Count. Building a computer is better because there might be computers that cant run DayZ on the market. Finding a computer to meet your needs is either expensive or hard to find. I'll try to find a build or a laptop/desktop to run DayZ that meets your price range.

Yeah low budget to me is 3k so be specific.

He already said it and wow such a useful post.

Other than that I found a useful website to tell the requirments to run DayZ. I'll try to calculate the total cost of the parts if you might want them:

Quote from: Website
Minimum to run DayZ:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 x2 2.5 GHz
RAM: Atleast 1-3 GB
OS: Windows XP or Vista
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce 8600GT or ATI Radeon 3650 or faster with Shader Model 3 and 512 MB VRAM
Sound Card: You'll need that

If you dont want to run minimum, try these recommended ones to run higher

the digital storm vanquish is amazing, i have one, trust me

get the 700$ one, it's not amazing, but it'll definitely work very well for it's price
i got the 1500 one, (for 1200, it was on discount), and it is one of the best computers i've ever seen

it also has triple monitor support and is highly customizable on the website

Word of advice, minimum requirements means the bare minimum it takes to open the application and recommended is just requirements of what it takes to manage to run the application like stuff. Those sites suck and shouldn't be used to tell anything.

DayZ Standalone is really bad right now in terms of performance. There's people with super computers getting less than 20 FPS in the game at certain times. It's extremely hard at this point in time to gather parts to make a PC because you don't know if it'll get better or worse.

I wish I could build my own computer, but I don't have a money tree in my backyard like everyone seems to have :/

In other words, no funds.
