Author Topic: 5 Senses.  (Read 2442 times)

If you're blind, your brain will devote more power to your other senses in order to survive. Your brain doesn't need to waste energy on dead senses.

Yep, that sounds similar to what I read.

Just wish I could remember the article or whatever it was.

This makes no sense. People have a sense of tempature.
No, it does. Yes, we can sense temperature to a degree (lol degree), but people have no way of measuring it themselves (and it varies from person to person). As a result it technically makes more sense to call it a sense of heat, but it is just technicalities. Neither one is completely incorrect, but a "sense of temperature" is less correct based on its definition and scientific meaning.

My sense of smell sucks-- my left nostril barely even works

But I have the eyes of a hawk lol

Yeah, my sight's pretty good, too. Too bad they don't let you put down 20/10 on permits and licenses.

I would have a sense of smell if it weren't for my allergies building a dam in my nose constantly.

Nothing in this thread makes any sense

Humans actually have a lot more than 5.
Including, but not limited to:
  • Pain
  • Warmth and coldth
  • Acceleration
  • Magnetic fields

And of all those, smell is probably the least important one, so in a sense you're lucky.

EDIT: No pun intended on the 'in a sense'
Pain and warmth/cold kinda fit in with touch/physical feeling. :T
