Author Topic: How do i get my dog to use her training pads?  (Read 1249 times)

We bought my dog training pads so that she has somewhere to pee n poo, but she completely ignores them and leaves surprises in my room. I can't get her to use them no matter how hard I try.

Any ideas?

Throw the dogs poop at the dog

If not try masturbating with a tuna jar maybe that sight might scare her.

This is why you should never ask for help on the forums

If you catch her in the act, grab her and put her on the mat. Every time she pees or poos somewhere besides the pad, take her and push her nose by the spot and give her a light spank, then set her on the mat. Reward her with treats when she ends up using it. Eventually she'll get the message.

This. If I was potty training, I think I'd catch on quick if my accidents were thrown at me.

don't do the nose thing

move the poopy to the mat

Box her in to one of the training pads. Keep her in there until she goes to the bathroom on it, and then reward her. Continue this several times until she does it on her own

kick her
it always works.

rub her nose in it

or put her outside that seems a little more smart

Buy dog diapers
(Yes the actually exist)
I got them for my dog when he broke his leg and had to wear a cone (I think it was the treatment given by the vet).

my dog peed on a puppy pad then pooped right next to it
