i can not for the life of me remember basic things about people (even my extremely close friends)

and recently ive started to forget some faces (like i cant just bring up someone's face on memory, only very vague things like hair color and stuff)

stuff like this has really been affecting me because i forget what i promise people and stuff

The human brain has something called neuro-plasticity, as in the brain can physically change itself. So whatever way your brain is right now is because of past experiences or conscious choices to cause yourself change. So basically, you're this way because you somehow or your life somehow made you that way.

My memory is good in a weird way that doesn't really make sense...
I can try my best to recall something and I won't remember it until I think in actual words, "What the heck was it?" Then I remember it.

What is even more strange is that I consciously have to think, "Ok remember that," and then I can remember it.
