here's a thought for you
If someone started up an "inflation thread," and started filling the thread with inflation special interest material, what would be your first assumption?

Logically, that they're inflation special interestists. It's a fair assumption, and it's the only logical one that comes to mind really.
Then imagine they told you that they weren't loveually attracted to inflation art, they were just fans of the art style. That they thought it was really cool how people looked when you filled all their extremities with air. How ridiculous would that sound to you? Imagine they started calling themselves "Inflationists," and they'd zealously assert that most "Inflationists" didn't ever masturbate to inflation art, and that the ones who did were just making the fandom look bad. I mean naturally,
all the art looks bad and creepy as forget to you because you don't have the special interest, but they still assert that most of the material is meant for admiring and not for catering to their paraphilia.
This is the same exact thing that the furry fandom has done. It's just a mainstream special interest that snowballed from a bunch of research artists and cosplayers trying to validate themselves. It's utterly ridiculous and any totally rational human being would not willingly identify themselves as a furry.
