Author Topic: How does sleep actually "work"?  (Read 1779 times)

I forget, isn't it true that you have a dream like 30 minutes before you wake up?
duuuude sleep is weird

people have school? omg

After that your subconscious takes the responsibility of performing tasks throughout the brain and performing body tests (that don't require moving) to make sure everything is working (ie. repeatedly erecting the snake to make sure it's working properly).
10/10 Example....

Don't dreams sometimes feel like an hour but REM sleep usually lasts for like, 10 or 5 minutes.

the mind is a silly thing
sleep feel like putting cucumber on your eyes for five minutes and then waking up to hell for 15 hours

I'm fairly certain you flux in and out of REM sleep. The periods of REM sleep get longer and longer every time, though. If I remember right, this is called the REM-Cycle, and it's where you dream. You can plan this out with some weird pattern to help you lucid dream.

Sleep is a beautiful thing.

Usually that lucid dreaming method where you wake up during REM sleep due to an alarm clock /usually/ results in a really scary sleep paralysis.

Which is exactly why I like to stick to the, 'dream-check' method.

As a kid, I was a really deep sleeper. Apparently I almost burned the house down twice by sleepwalking and turning the stove on.

doesn't your brain send out a hormone that makes you feel tired and relaxes muscles?

I don't know, but it's sure as hell something I manage to be bad at.

I'm not even sure I had a lucid dream. I woke up at like 11, my grandma said to wake up, I feel right back asleep. I was thinking about that since I just heard it and knew I was dreaming. I said you're hot to this girl and she said something about locusts. And I was looking for brown town lube and a carrot for some reason, and then I woke up. I'm not even sure if it was a lucid dream.

Can you imagine what you were planning on cooking or do you think you just turned on the stove compulsively?

I feel right back asleep.
