Whenever it spikes, I need you to go punch your sister or whoever is using the internet.
Okay I'm kidding, but something is using a lot of internet when it spikes and you need to figure out what it is

so far i know of a couple of things that could be lagging your internet.
1. Videos
2. downloading (steam or something)
3. Things that use a whole lot of internet in general. This for me is generally skype so i turn it off.
Although steam doesn't need to be downloading a game for it to lag. i find that it decides to download stuff whenever it likes so if you can try disabling auto updates for things.
Other than that i don't know anything else that would be lagging the internet

You're using wireless and your router is stuffting itself.
