I don't do authority figures. If my parents took my computer I'd give them hell until they gave it back. Respect isn't a one way street, I respect my parents to the extent that they respect me. The moment I turned 18 I had my vehicle and insurance signed over to my name so that if they attempted to take away my car I could file a law suit against them for larceny. I much prefer the relationship I have with my parents to a one-sided relationship where they have more say in what I do than I do myself.
This, I am with you on the respect part. But It certainly isn't a one way street. Just because you're younger/offspring doesn't mean you have your own side to an argument.
I don't think he's being mean, I think he's trying to help you stay away from the computer and probably video games too. It's what parents are for, to help us.
Yes, but to the extent of taking technology away for an unreasonable amount of time (3 years) is batstuff crazy. I'm not saying we can't live without technology, but this is really unnecessary time lengths.
