Author Topic: Do you miss your first years of Blockland?  (Read 3077 times)

I remember when trench wars were a thing. Ah, good old trench wars. My favorite game mode...
EDIT: So I discovered it was about v14 when I first bought it, during march 12, 2010. Woah, man.

It's almost two year since I played this game (bought in January 12th)
Missed my good times

I loved screwing around in demo version back in v19? or v20, I forget. but building stuff only with 150 bricks was fun. My parents thought buying online was dangerous at that time.
I'm still going through my first year as a full version blocklander.
I would of started playing earlier but my younger self thought "OH forget THERES INAPPROPRIATE THINGS LIKE love???" when I found out at 2010 or 2009?

I still love blockland of course, but my first years on it was the best time I've had

Is there a way to find the exact date that you bought the retail version of BL?

People got mad at me often and I even lost a friend once by saying "damn."

They proceeded to say "THATS A CUSS WORD!11!" and leave forever. I don't know where he went.

I miss my earlier days. My Dad bought Blockland back when I was, I don't know, six? It was a very special game for the both of us. I feel like we bonded greatly. We played together on dogfights and other servers. I remember we built a pyramid fortress on Amade islands. We even made Blockland Movies, which turned out surprisingly "okay", since my Dad works as a director for irl movies. We had a blast.
Nowdays, my mom has full custody of me. My Dad can't play with me on Blockland. I only see him twice a week, for two-hour visits. It's quite depressing. I miss him.

oh dear, that's pretty sadning. My father has Blockland on his laptop but he rarely plays it, He rarely speaks to me either.

I do miss my first years. I always played servers with Rotondo's zombies on V20 in No mercy subway and most of my oldfriends dissapeared after terrains had to go because of V21 :c. I never saw them again.

Yes; I remember watching the Screen Savers host a lan party with the beta version (back in 2005), but waited like 2 weeks before finally deciding to check it out. I still remember my first server too - it was on the slopes and I was trying to figure out how everything worked.

Later on, I joined someone's server and saw them moving the windows in the bedroom map. We discovered the mission editor and figured out that we could leave the map, later discovering a sword, spear and bow weapons floating next to the map, which we used to annoy other players, lol. Someone also ported the Torque "buggy" vehicle into the game, and there was such excitement over finally getting to use vehicles. Thanks to the mission editor, we eventually discovered the spawn spheres and made spawn traps; I began making maps out of stretched bricks, since they were handled as static shapes back then. After someone recommended for me to learn how to make interiors, I starting incorporating them and terrain into my maps, eventually getting them to look like this.

When retail came out, I also waited awhile before deciding to buy the game (mainly using the demo to port my old maps to work with retail). After finally purchasing it, my ID was so high, compared to others, that I was often mistaken as an imposter. :/ Good times...

I joined back in v20 ;c
played the demo in v19 then decided to purchase it in v20.
Actually, A special thanks to Pablo to getting me into this game. I saw his videos on youtube and it made me buy it.

I think I still have the PM I sent him when I first joined the forums... Welp no. Must have deleted it.
this really touched me, I'm glad I could help friend

My dad only played the demo/tutorial of Blockland in 2008 before I played it.  He doesn't like it now cause I spend a lot of time on it.

danny boys free build was too much fun, people did lots of stuff on his server and i spent hours on it building 1x1 houses because i didn't know how to build at this time, heedackings tdm was also a good server
