Author Topic: so I got a gun pointed at me today :( [da police involved]  (Read 5173 times)

Lets be honest here for a second though. Are we really going to believe somebody who refers to a magazine as a clip knows the caliber of a gun that's being pointed at them?
Also running in a zigzag is pretty loving stupid, he's not an alligator.

yeah this

Trinick must have not seen the deer flip

BUT WHY DID HE RUN?
OP most likely felt that it was the kids who were intending harm on him.

ive been told that if someone ever points a gun at you the best thing you can say is something like "youre not gonna shoot me! you dont have the balls!"

it also helps if you put your forehead up to the barrel and go "go ahead! shoot me! you wont, because you dont have the guts"

thats the only way to guarantee your survival if someone points a gun at you

Oink oink! Toxic cops! Toxic cops!

my dad did exactly this when he was in the army in a base in west virginia

You're supposed to run in zigzags when you're avoiding being shot. When the target is changing directions you can't just aim ahead of them to nail them. Obviously you don't run in tight zigzags, but you don't run in a straight line.

It said it on the side of the loving gun asshat lmao

I know the difference between a magazine and a clip ffs, clip is shorter than magazine so its just my lazy side.

BUT WHY DID HE RUN?

I wasn't running from them or anything, I just like to travel faster.

OP may even just be a slow runner too, or doesn't want to find out if the guy is a faster runner the hard way.

To clear this part up, if I wanted to keep running, I could have, and would have gotten away. I am relatively fast and can run a mile pretty fast, under 6 minutes at least. I don't think he couldve shot me easily from the distance he was at. The gun was a snubnose, and I don't think they really have the long range accuracy, at least at the distance I was.

My main reason for not running is that they had a vehicle running, and I mean, I didn't know anything about the gun he was holding at this point in time. Try to look at it from my point of view, I live in a part of South Carolina where shootings aren't really rare. People arent bad with guns generally down here, everybody is just ignorant as hell.

someone calls you by your full name, and the first thing you do is run? Not even look who it is? This story sounds like you made a mad dash to get away from the cop.

Of course you are going to get a gun pulled on you because they don't know what they are expecting. They could of expect you to have a gun of your own.

To the first part, I was skipping school. I didn't want to be caught by classmates and that's what the voice sounded like. I actually found out who called my name later, he was at the weight lifting building and saw me.

The second part you have a good point, but when they got to me and saw I was unarmed it was just silly to hold the gun on me. There were four of them, one of me, and I told the guy I was unarmed and just skipping school.

UPDATE: I'm still trying to get my parents off pressing charges because its completely unreasonable. The way I see it it's done and over. Either way, the sheriffs department is having trouble finding a police report. I don't think the slackers wrote one anyhow haha.

I've had a officers gun pointed straight at my head before for being where I shouldn't have been. Me and my cousin weren't armed at all and he kept it pointed at us while blinding us with a flashlight for a few minutes.
If we had a gun wouldn't you think we would have used it and got the hell out?

You wouldn't be good at GTA: Real Life Edition.

ha i would whoop ass

robbin indian gas stations n stuff

Well, the reason I was using the initial distance as the distance for my consideration was because I wouldn't have given the man time to close the gap. My reaction to having a gun pointed at me would have been to run in zigzag lines. Indeed, if the gunman was within 10 feet, I would not have run. I would have however pulled out my cellphone and called the police myself, then my lawyer. Obviously the OP didn't have that comfort though, being a minor. However, the man who pointed a loaded gun at a minor should be charged with reckless endangerment of a minor. His poor evaluation of the situation was absolutely egregious.
why the forget wouldnt you just stop
why risk getting shot when you could just lay on the ground, i mean not only is running incredibly stupid and dangerous, but theres not even a logical reason behind it unless youre on parole or something
