It is an overrated army full of mostly conscripts who are required by law to server for a few years. Fighting a group that uses guerilla tactics with a big conventional army never works. The British tried in Americas in 1776 and failed, The British tried it again in Afghanistan in 1839 and failed, the United States tried to fight a guerilla army in Vietnam in1963 and failed, The Soviet Union tried to fight an insurgency in Afghanistan in 1979 and that didn't work out for them.
