Author Topic: So i'm going to get Rosetta Stone.  (Read 3055 times)

afaik rosetta stone is comparable to learning vocabulary words in elementary school. it can be kinda useful. but it's not a replacement for conversation, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't even teach you grammar

are you handicapped buu? spanish is a very useful language to learn, a lot of people use it and it's generally spoke throughout the western side of America. I think it's a language everyone should atleast know some of especially for you since you're probably going to be working stuff jobs all your life anyway.
yeah, but most people who speak spanish as a native language also understand english, even if its elementary level. source: i happen to live in the west coast in area crowded with immigrants, and even if you're going to learn it, Rosetta stone's version is terrible and should be discarded immediately.

also wth khorde i thought we were cool ;-;

the spanish television plays rosseta stone commercials 75% of the time

then that means English is useless too lel

then that means English is useless too lel
elaborate please

Spanish is still pretty useful. Even if the so called immigrants understand basic English, its still very helpful to have some knowledge of their language. Also, if you want to go to Spain or almost any central or South American country (Minus Brazil), it's a pretty good thing to know.

most people who have a lot of money look for ways to blow it

pfft like all spanish people who can speak some english are capable of speaking it coherently

i had a sub for spanish yesterday and she was incoherent as forget even though i'm used to incoherent english from listening to family members talk

but regardless it's definitely not useless to pick up

Look into this as well.

Rosetta stone is a piece of crap, don't waste money on it.

i'm learning mandarin right now and the online resources are far better than that.

elaborate please
>every english speaker learns spanish

>buu says its useless because every spanish speaker is learning english

>Every spanish person learns english

>useless because every english speaker is learning spanish!11

They are learning each other's languages.

My sister speaks fluently in mandarin

protip: don't ever learn spanish, its useless most of the time and most people know english as a second language

just incase you considered learning it once
Very untrue. If you ever go to any Spanish speaking country, and aren't in/leave your resort, you will find quite a few people who don't know English.

doesn't rosetta stone teach all the languages in the exact same way

doesn't rosetta stone teach all the languages in the exact same way
yep

which is not how it should be done. creates lots of bad habits
