Author Topic: Monitor problems  (Read 769 times)

So I got this(my parents bought it from a store, not that sketchy website) tv to use as a tv monitor combo for Christmas.  the problem is that if I use it in any resolution other than its native resolution of 1366x768 it says "Not supported" and I can't use the resolution.  I am only able to play Blockland in windowed mode at 800x600, 720x480, or 640x480.  If I try to go fullscreen it tells me the resolution isn't supported and I have to uninstall Blockland and reinstall it so it goes back to windowed mode.  Does anyone have any advice with this monitor?

Uhm, for 220 dollars according to most sites, I would never have bought that TV regardless of LED or not.  1366x768 for a 24 inch screen is just an absolute joke.  Can you tell us also what cords you are using to hook it to your PC

I'm just using my standard vga cable hooked to my graphics card.

What GPU are you running?  You could also use a custom resolution mod for blockland to get the resolution you want.

i had the same problem. unplug your monitor and then plug it back in. that worked for me.

Its just some old nvidia 128 mb card that I'm using to do web browsing and stuff until my R9 270 comes in, since I don't have integrated graphics on my mobo.

The problem is since the TV doesn't fully support the resolution, instead of allowing for black edges or parts that are cut off at the edges it just doesn't show anything at all.

It basically acts like it would when it would say "No signal" but it says not supported instead.

EDIT: tried what you said, psychomutt, it didn't work.

I have the R9 270x from gigabyte, it's a great card

jeez. that must suck
I found it in the attic in a box, and if FedEx would hurry their asses up with my new card I wouldn't have to use this piece of stuff much longer.

Yeah I saw some benchmarks for it, it looks pretty nice.

But that still doesn't fix my resolution problem.

what res is your 1st screen?

or just the tv? have you used a screen with bigger res?
