Author Topic: Making Maps in Hammer  (Read 2141 times)

I was just wondering is making maps in hammer for blockland any different than
making maps for source? Please help because i really want to make a interior map
instead of a terrain map. I really need help and it would be greatly appreciated.

I tried Quark and have had problems.

What do I have to do in order for the textures in Quark to display properly? I ended up downloading a variation of .jpg images, and in Quark they were horribly distorted and I got error messages.

Could anyone clarify on what to do, or point me in the direction of a comprehensive guide? Thanks.

check on there website for tut.s

I did and the texture tutorial tells nothing about how to get them and what format
they should be in only how to use them.

You need Wally to make textures compatible with hammer.
I believe Hammer uses .wad files, HL2.
(You'll understand it once you get wally)
Just search up some tutorials, they are somewhere around this forum.

I just realized what you're asking.
No, it's not much different except that you cannot use any of the player spawns or ladders that you could normally use for source, also, getting Hammer to export a .dif is quite a hassle, I suggest Torque Constructor, easy to use and exports like a charm.
