you make the model in sketch up, then export it to 3ds format, open it in 3d studio max...

TheGeek does, it doesn't he? Didn't he model the new tank in Sketch Up?

ok, how do I export it to 3D format and what is/where can I get 3D studio max?
please dont flame me cause' I don't know these things...even though I know you probably will :/

Nah, we won't.
I believe you need the pro version of Google Sketchup to be able to export it to anything but a screenshot, and I cannot help you with 3Ds max, sorry.

Find the free Google Sketchup .obj exporter on the internet and use Obj2DTS. Read the documentation for both well.

well I COULD just make a sketchup model and pm the file to someone....then they export it and give me credit to the model :/ alot easier for me seeing as I have sketchup 6 and that exporter is only compatible with 5...wait  a minute i just got an idea... how about I download the sketchup 5 and load my ketchup 6 model on to sketchup 5 doewnmload the exporter and export my model....I think thaT WILL WORK...

sorry for triple post but I need to know, Badspot what size would you generally use...give an example like a pistol or something to give me an idea of how big...like do this:
"A pistol would be x',x" long, x',x" wide, and x', x" tall" or give a size by the size of the person component... if you want to :/
btw, about how much memory should the model take up iyp?

On Sketchup, the handle should be 2 inches wide to fit in the hand.

so you would build it the size of a normal gun?

Were did you find the OBJ exporter.

I searched it in Google...but as I said its only for Sketchup 5..=(

I want an older version of Google Sketch Up...then I can get it to work....anyone have version 4.x or 3.x? 4.x apreciated.
