Author Topic: Blockland soon on Linux? (Steam Dev Days)  (Read 4055 times)

It's also what the Steam OS is built from, so, obviously not useless stuff.
steam os brings absolutely nothing new to the table. maybe a bit of a performance increase in some games, but than again to play games they need to be linux compatible. it would be easier and make more sense for me to just connect my computer to the tv without any other os which is pretty much useless. but since so many people use linux anyways i guess bringing blockland to it makes sense

yes it is
i've noticed this trend going around that linux is being used by people who want to show off that they know a lot about computers. idk what's going through their head by hey
please stop, some of us are not """showing off"""

Very absurd of you to say something like that.

Also the fact that programs run faster on it when they do work.

You guys that are bashing on linux probably don't realize that linux is what operates most of the internet.

most of us are talking about the visual part of the operating system
like sure it might be useful for hosting but how does it compare to windows for the usual person

Efficient. Free. Good support (for things that do work with it anyways). The only bullstuff is that software developers ignore it.

I can get a longer battery life on my laptop, figured I'd throw that out there too.
I got maybe an hour, maybe 90 minutes on Windows, whereas I can almost get 3 hours on Linux.

Eh. It wasn't designed for it, but it works pretty well. I think the main problem is that X was never intended for a desktop environment.

Probably falls under  the efficient part of my post.

i'm using elementary os right now, lol.

Idk maybe it could work with the steam controller?  It has those duel track pad things.  Maybe one of them controls the ghost bricks?  (And various triggers and things control planting and stuff)  Building is really the only hard thing to tackle control-wise since its fairly dependent on a number pad.  Other than that.. the rest of the game is pretty much a standard FPS game and would work just like any other console FPS.

I had to break the img thing so it wouldnt page stretch or count as spam
Don't break it, use [nobbc][/nobbc].
