Author Topic: I'm of having new FiOS internet.  (Read 2033 times)

they may use your wifi to torrent stuff and you won't be able to say "it wasn't me" because it's under your network no matter what.  not to mention they may attempt to break into your computer over the network.
Not gonna happen.
Let's be realistic here.

That's not bad! I got FiOS in 2012, and it was worth it. Internet speeds are so much faster and reliable compared to our old provider Time Warner.

They were my old provider as well.

You live in Candy Land or something? People notice an unprotected network, they will use it for anything and everything, particularly if it's strong, lol.

They used to be good, but they started going downhill especially with television cable service.

We've had an unprotected network for YEARS. Nothing ever happened.
I've NEVER heard of this happening. I'm sure it has happened, but it's probably about as likely as being robbed or even struck by lightning.

You people are paranoid as stuff lol

House has been robbed, I kno(e)w two people who have been struck by lightning.
stuff happens, and it's best to be prepared than not to be. Really, there's no reason not to have a password.

Not usually that bad.  I normally have a B average.

it's inconvenient for everyone who comes to your house
if they wanna say, use their wifi on a laptop they gotta ask you the password

Make your password something normal? Don't be a pleb and have a modern router/modem with APS?

Or just set up a guest network, almost every modern router has that option. Set the password to something simple. Then you can have a secure network with a strong password for your household network, and the guest network for the people visiting. It's really simple.
