Guys longsword, greatsword or dual swords?

dual swords -- fastest weapon, highest average dps potential, lowest range, loses sharpness the fastest. you're constantly in on the action.

longsword -- second fastest, second highest average dps potential, range is 2-3x that of dual, loses sharpness relatively quickly. plays something in between dual and great

greatsword -- slowest weapon (i mean geological timescale slow), lowest average dps potential (still very good if you constantly land your charge attack), highest single attack damage, same range as long, keeps sharpness the best. can block (this stuff saves lives man). much more of a hit and run weapon in most cases.

i personally like greatswords the best because the other two always make me feel like i'm cutting through paper

really though, they're all very good options and you can't go wrong by trying them out. hell, main all three.

Guys longsword, greatsword or dual swords?
Personally, I don't use greatswords enough to know too much about them, so I can't comment on them much (besides that THEY'RE loving COOL)
However, Longswords are really great for stringing together high damage strings from a fair distance, and their spirit gauge/attack thing is way too cool because they off hype ass damage boosts. I love my longswords.
Dual swords are also really easy to get into if you're into fast hitting, but the obvious downside is that you have to constantly hug a monster in order to hurt it. However that can be said almost with all monsters, but somethimes just sitting under it isn't good. (plus sometimes it strings attacks together that you can't cancel and then you can't dodge)

Either way, both weapons are really fun, and its up to preference.

I've been using the switch axe a lot lately, the sword mode really is powerful but has to recharge every once in a while.
