Going through Demian's tutorial:

But some things are different in the files.  There is no .blender in the Program Files/Blender Foundation/Blender folder, but there is one in the Blender249b_Python262_DTlovep orter097b3_64bit.zip file.  I'm not sure if I'm just confused, or something is wrong.

I do have Blender 2.49 by the way.

Bump...guys I don't think this is all that difficult.

You need to have separate folders for Blender 2.49b and the newer version of Blender, make sure you are in the Blender 2.49b folder.

Do I just open blender.exe in the 2.49 folder?  Or do I have to save the 2.49 folder to some special place beforehand?

The zip file contains the exporter and everything else, extract that and enjoy the old blender. Demian's blender zip contains a portable version of Blender, which means you can put it anywhere on the computer.

I'll have to mess with it more I guess.  I guess I'll post again later if I run into anymore issues.

Are you using Windows 8? If so, I think the .blender folder is in the %APPDATA% folder (I think).
