War tycoons could get pretty unfair though.
Player A has 50 mil and a finished tycoon and mininuke
Player B has $10 and just bought his first door and a dagger
give you one guess who gets their ass kicked.
That's right, Player A gets stabbed in the back via dagger
If I were going to take this up, here's what I would do:
- divide the server into teams
- each player within the team claims one section of the tycoon to run, this way it's a team effort to survive
- Red Player 1 owns the front wall/gate, and Red Player 2 owns the sniper towers on all corners of the fort, then Red Player 3 owns the motorpool, etc etc
- Have mining nodes OUTSIDE the fortress (think of
Stick War)
- Use a fairly balanced weapon pack so you don't have someone nuking the entire enemy team (ex. H&K or Bushido's brand new
Quake Weapons)
- Create a large map imbetween the forts so the battling is more between the fortresses than it is AT the fortresses
- Create control points that when controlled by an ally team, grants bonus cash to that team
