I'm 100% completely cool with the pay for the cash prize rule. I just want to enter, have fun and if I do win
then at least I'll have bragging rights on the server for the next century.

I don't understand why you think we would spend $40 of our own money for this. That's a lot of money and would probably amount to half of my monthly allowance. If you can't see why our system is a good idea then don't play. We aren't forcing you.
I offered to put $50 in the pool. Why not just accept my offer and get rid of the pay to enter?

Because Tower of Heaven is master race

Side note: Can we also discuss dates

It should be on a Saturday, the time should probably be accommodating the highest amount of players possible around the world who play the server/intend on competing.

I agree, though I think currently there are a lot of final exams going on for people around the world.

Will join, seems interesting

What do you mean is there any reason behind it?

why are you wanting to give away $50 when you could actually make some money out of this if you were to play with the $1?

There needs to be a rule that disqualifies players with a lag of over 100 ms. People can easily abuse lag - lag checks can be made on each individual player before every round (by round I mean the first free for all, groups of 5, 8 free for all, etc) and 2 out of 3 of the displayed checks must be under 100 to move on.
