Author Topic: Need some help with burning streamed radio to CD  (Read 892 times)

Okay, so, there's this station in London called Rinse FM. It plays a lot of underground music that I love, and some jungle and what-not. I found out, you can download this M3U file that allows you to automatically listen to the radio when you open it, it never expires. I was wondering if I could burn this M3U file to a CD and have the CD play the radio station in the car. I really love Rinse.

Help?

I don't know if that's how it works...
CDs are not programs, they might not be able to run this - I would say it depends on the car.

Alternatively, use the radio like a normal person?

My car can run CDs.

I don't live in London.

Edit: Sorry for the double post.

My car can run CDs.
Most cars acan. What Imeant is if the car can run M3Us. The issue is that I really doubt these files actually store any music, rather they store information about the station that your computer accesses over the internet. Chances are, a car couldn't do this.

But I'm not very educated in this area, so I really don't know.

I'm going to do an experiment to see if I can run the file offline, I really hope this works. :( I hate all the mainstream radio stations in my area, they're all crap.

im not sure what an m3u is but i would convert to mp3 stat.

you can't convert a playlist to an audio file

an m3u is just a playlist isn't it?

i don't think this'll work

the .m3u file is just playing music from a url

you can't burn it to a disk

Holy crap I love this station
OT: No it won't work, it requires internet to stream, which can't be accessed through a CD or DVD

Alternatively, you could find the music you like on the Internet and just burn the .MP3 files to your disc.

I'm sorry to bump, but thanks for all your help. :( I'm kind of sad I can't play this station. But I will look for the tracklists! Thanks!
