Substitute y = alpha into the original equation.

dy/dx = 0 because alpha is a constant number. This makes y = alpha. Since y is alpha, alpha = alpha which makes this a solution to the ODE. That math is correct, and the listed steps are actually pointless to go through. If you think that this symbolic result is actually supposed to mean anything then I feel sorry for you. Are you sure you didn't pull what you said out of your ass? The point of the post is obviously lost on you as you were trying so very hard to make yourself look good. I'm surprised you haven't completely left this trainwreck of a thread, you're making yourself out to be quite the fool. You say you understand sarcasm though it's quite obvious you're pulling that one out of your ass as well.

What? I didn't pull my post out of my ass and I'm not trying to make myself look good either. You can't just solve equations by plugging in arbitrary numbers. I can't solve e=mc^2 by saying e = m therefor the speed of light is 1. You can't just arbitrarily define y as alpha.

Let's view an example. Say the regard you hold me in is -0.5 but you're having a good day and your rate of satisfaction change is 0.75. Y = 0.75 - 0.5, therefor your reaction to my post is a positive 1/4. Not alpha, which is negative one half.

I didn't say alpha is a random number I said it is an arbitrary number.  And you just posted that you indeed pick an initial condition, which means that I was correct in saying so. I refuted your point that "The amount of positive feedback to what you write = how much regard I hold you in" is true in all cases, not that it was true in absolutely no cases. I actually even specifically said that it is true in one case, but only one case.
