Author Topic: My laptop has no internet capability whatsoever  (Read 1388 times)

It's been like this for months now
I try to connect to my home wi-fi, it says
"unidentified network, no internet access"

Also tried my school's guest wifi, same thing
I ALSO tried my school's student wifi, STILL said the same thing...

I've been okay about it for a while but now I just want it fixed
My mom said we can format the hard drive but I have a lot of my work saved on there. And I take my laptop to school all the time

Has anyone had this before
oh my laptop is a 16" toshiba i've had since 2009 (and has win7) if that matters
oh and it's rly heavy

if "forums" is plural, then the verb needs to be plural as well

ie:
they doesn't need it - bad agreement
they don't need it- good agreement

Uninstall and reinstall your wireless NIC drivers.

use the driver disc that came with your computer if you still have it, to reinstall wireless drivers

Before you go along uninstalling things turn off your laptop, open up the bottom cover and look for something that looks like this and just make sure it's connected snug and that to two wires are properly connected to the card. You don't actually have to remove it though. Make sure to touch something made of metal for at least a few seconds before touching anything inside your laptop and only touch the card by the corners.

But first unplug it, remove the battery, and hit the power button to discharge all electricity.

You don't really have to press the power button nowadays. Pretty much all capacitors discharge in a matter of seconds.
