Author Topic: Daft Punk swept the Grammys.  (Read 7219 times)

now daft punk is getting popular with more 8 year olds listening to it.

Is this a bad thing? Generally speaking, a bigger audience is always better, regardless of how young the audience is :n

I don't really think the average age of the people listening to it is going to directly harm and/or degrade the band, really.

if deadmou5 never wore that handicapped mouse head. all the kids today would think his music is just the boring stuffty indie hipster electro trash it actually is.

visuals sell on stupid people
I love deadmau5 and I've never seen him live. I listened to a good bit of his music before I even knew that he wore the mouse head thing.
He does some pretty fantastic stuff, esp. 7.

People saying Daft Punk is bad
lol
I think you guys need to understand that while there is some bad music, in general music is almost entirely based on opinion.
Anyways I'm really glad these guys won

Daft Punk deserves every bit of it

And forget anyone who says RAM sucked
I didn't enjoy RAM, it was good but I was really disappointed. I was hoping it was more like Homework or Discovery. The only song I really like from RAM is Instant Crush .

Daft Punk deserves every bit of it

And forget anyone who says RAM sucked
ram reaaaaaaally trailed off from what I usually listen to daft punk for (70s disco mixed with electronica)

ram focused way too much on lyrics and was just 2human4me

daft punk tried something different, and it wasn't what everyone expected

i still applaud them for trying to deviate from their formula, though

Bleh.

forget Daft Punk.
Short looping generic music.

Boggles my mind why people enjoy it.

Edit: Okay, somebody explained it for me.
The reason why Daft Punk is popular is because stupid people need short looping music to stay interested with their short, short attention spans. It makes sence now.
you need to shut up about daft punk, there are better "artists" to devote your time to undermining, daft punk atleast makes their own songs and that's quite a miracle for any pop artist, they make good rifs they play them over and over adding variations to it, that's because it's meant to be songs you play while multitasking, i listen to daft punk all the time while playing games and it's great that the songs are relatively simple so you don't have to devote all your neurons just to listening to a goddamn song. They make repetitive songs and they get popular, deviating from the formula is great but everybody has to be a populist at one point when it comes to entertainment, it doesn't matter how amazing a song is. If nobody likes it there's no motivation to make it. Daft Punk has stuck with their formula because people like it, you'll never please everybody and that shouldn't be expected of any musician.
Go listen to your schubert and bach somewhere else

don't diss on schubert and bach buster,

if you have to tell people that the music is only meant to be listened to whole you're focused on something else, there is a problem

i'm the opposite- if you dissect a daft punk track, you'll realize how detailed it actually is.

don't diss on schubert and bach buster,
dude erl king is ma favorite song

daft punks helmets piss me off for some reason
and they're okay i guess, it does seem that they loop some lyrics and change it up only a little bit

daft punks helmets piss me off for some reason
(hint: the reason is probably that you are stupid!)
