What are you talking about? I see it everywhere. It ranges from subtle to more extravagant such as the commercials that I would be surprised if you haven't seen
and this is propaganda...how?
it's basically the same thing as saying "you shouldn't call people friends/racial slurs/etc." because in those cases the insult comes from something that isn't actually bad
I suppose you could be offended if someone called you gay, but only if you weren't, because, you know, you aren't.
or the wedding of several gay couples during the Grammy awards, which are watched by thousands of people.
So clearly watching straight people get married is straight propaganda. Which is also watched by thousands of people.
Or maybe one-gendered organisms are gay propaganda because they are all reproducing with the same love?
Or maybe shows that make you feel good are propaganda for being happy?
Or maybe Pokémon is evolutionary propaganda even though it really doesn't follow the actual theory of evolution at all?
I don't forgetin' know...
My reasoning behind the ribbon objection is that they shouldn't even take a ribbon if they're as proud as they say.
survivors of, say, breast cancer still wear ribbons even though they are proud of surviving
are you saying that you can't raise awareness for something because you are proud of something involved with it?
are you saying that religions should not have their unique symbols? Because religious people are certainly proud of their faith.
Also, I hear that they are adding a "Q" to LGBT to include "Queer" or "questioning" people. So they are adding to their ranks people that aren't even sure who they are.
dunno where this comes from
but "questioning" people would probably be disliked the same as the rest because they are not confident in their loveuality
Yes, but for some reason, no one has a problem when the LGBT(Q?) community goes around with their signs and slogans, but when others protest them, they are branded as evil and such, or worse.
because people are protesting against something (not being straight) that isn't inherently wrong
Yes, this is an isolated incident, but it gives one an idea of how bad things can get.
Yes, and it can be this bad for any sort of dramatic social change.
