Author Topic: ModTer night glow texture fix.  (Read 4930 times)

The original Mod Terrain textures glowed in the dark for whomever had shaders off. Let's be honest here. It's disgusting and annoying and now I have a fix for it. Using much darker textures I corrected the glowing issue.

You cannot have both files enabled. Doesn't make much sense for both to be enabled anyways.

also i dont need this because shaders ;)

But then your build looks disgustingly ugly to anyone who doesn't have shaders.

You can't argue with these results.

This also makes textures appear less blindingly bright with shaders on during the day time.

Can you show a comparison during day time?

Just download it and find out. I'm not going to bother because you don't seem like you're going to download it anyways. I've aleady applied this method to studs and lines and removed their glow. Prints too.

This can be done for decals and faces too but no one will see it anyways.

Sigh. I like to know what add-ons are/look like before I download them. I'll just provide images for other people because you're too lazy for some dumb reason.

(sorry for jpg artifacts, imgur tends to do that with large images)

There is a definite improvement without shaders. With shaders, it removes the shine but it's actually pretty good if you don't want your terrain to shine like plastic.

Thanks for the pics. I also have a fix for default stud textures too. I'll upload it later.

How do you make them to not-glow? I'm kind of interested in this.

The factor that causes prints to glow is the fact that they're, simply put, not affected by the light level.
If your entire spray consists of the RGB color black (0, 0, 0) at varying alpha levels, it will never appear brighter than the current light level.
