i'd just like to see the forum's input on this view of rape/loveual assault

Dumb. Cars can accidentally hit a person. Looking both ways is an extra precaution to avoid that.

You can't accidentally rape someone.

it's stupid, people don't go out of there way to hit children in a car

the guy who made that image is a handicap

who the hell tells a car to not hit kids? you tell the driver

also whoever gets hit by a car is at fault here. if you run in front of a car moving at high speeds you deserve to die

You guys make it sound like the persons motive matters.

Yeah, the picture doesn't exactly convey it's point in a profound way, but the idea is that telling someone to be careful isn't a bad thing.

Obviously if you purposely do it then yes, you're making an informed decision to run in front of a speeding car.

But nobody does that. We tell kids to look both ways before crossing the street to help them avoid dangerous drivers, not because they're obliged to.

You'd be surprised how many people think like that.

Basically they are the same people with the mentality of not taking responsibility for their actions, or the people that feel need to blame someone else.
"Oh I'm so fat, it's McDonalds fault!"
"A machine gun killed my son! Sue the weapon companies!"
"I got struck by a car when crossing at busy intersection without looking. It was the drivers fault!"
"Video games have made our youth violent! We need to take action now!"
"I didn't rape her, the drugs made me do it!"

"With great power comes great responsibility"

Same goes for cars. If you possess the ability to literally kill tens of people in an instant by driving in a way you've specifically been told you shouldn't, then it's your fault if you hit someone.

Unless it was physically impossible for the driver to spot you in time to slow down, it IS their fault. This is how it has always been and how it always should be.

this isn't a very good example for loveual assult cases though
both parties need to be careful; drivers should be careful when triving to avoid hitting people and people need to be careful to not get hit whether it's them walking across the street or if the driver isnt careful
hell, drivers can be victims in certain cases
someone being drunk and walking into the path of a speeding car isn't necessarily the driver's fault entirely
the driver being drunk and hitting someone isn't entirely the pedestrian's fault

with rape it's (coincidentally) a one-way street
telling women they need to protect themselves from male rapists is basically stating that there are loose, wild men that can't loving control themselves

what you do is get those men under control; if you tell women just to protect themselves then there's still a problem
whereas if you control rapists then the entire problem is gone

lets ban cars so car accidents never happen anymore

ill start a petition

A person has a right to not get raped.

A person does not have a right to run into traffic without looking and not get hit.

also im glad that u touched upon this and how everyone else isn't being really stuffty about it
