Author Topic: So how difficult is college in comparison to high school?  (Read 2144 times)

Disclaimer: In order to be reliable, I'd like to hear from someone with >1 year of public high school and is currently enrolled or is out of college.

Going into my senior year.  I'm just wondering if the work load in college is better/worse than an average high school student.  I'm kind of thinking that high school kids may have it worse because of all the classes, while in college classes, you are pursuing a main goal and will have less of the little petty things.  College kids though are most likely in a part/full time job, so school will have to be leaked in around it.

Discuss please.

no you pay 20k and just relax

The workload depends on your teachers, the courses you're taking, and the number of credit-hours you're taking. Be careful with what you choose.

Man, college scares me. The school I'm going to is an early college high school program and when I graduate, I'll graduate with my associate's degree and I have no idea what any of that means except for the fact I'm getting 2 years off from my time in college (???)

I know like nothing about any of this and I'm quite frightened for college because.. if I think high school is this hard then I'm in for a rude awakening lol

I might go and do some internship before college.  At least my mom wants me to do that.

From what I've been told, the most free time you'll ever have in school is during college. You manage most of your schedule, so I guess the work load will be as heavy as you want it to be.

Correct me if I'm wrong pls

i hear finals are brutal
and so are the prices

You have to win the game of life first. Overcome minimum wage by eating nothing but raw noodles because you can't even afford to cook them so you can pay your way through college.

you choose to go to the classes. as long as you pass your tests, you're good.
they give notes, you take em'.

when I play life, I always skip out on the school.
it takes your entire life to pay off the debts, and by the end you never come out ahead lol

Unless you are a lawyer, then you sorta just win by default.

Damn lawyers.

College is a higher education where you have a bunch of freedoms, and it is really a place where you get to know most about the world and yourself. I know that I definitely wanna attend it.

No it doesn't, by going to work you can pay off debt. A lot of people don't realize this, but just because you are in debt doesn't mean that your life is over or that you can't be happy or successful in life.

I was talking about the actual game of "life" where people who pick college never win

oh really because last two times i chose college i became a doctor and won both games???? ur wrong bisjac!!!

the game requires you to deduct like 100k or something off the top of your final earnings. its nearly impossible to beat out the guys who just took lower pay throughout the game.
