a looooong time ago, i had my bike stolen. i lived in an apartment complex, and i lived on the third (top) floor of one of the apartments probably around the middle of the entire complex. for some reason we did not want to carry the bike up the steps, so we just left it under the stairwell on the bottom floor, not locked up or anything. unsurprisingly, the bike was stolen after a while.
i never learned to ride a bike ;-;

It does, but my insurance premiums would go way up if I got robbed, which is a definite reality in my neighborhood.
