Author Topic: Interactive Desktop for linux?  (Read 698 times)

I want an interactive desktop for linux mint 13, running GNOME.
I'm talking about something like this

3D, and it looks like you can drag the tiles around, and they actually have physics and stuff.
Something like that.

why are you still running 13 when 16 is out, lol.

anyways, that doesn't exist for linux

why the hell would you even want something as stupid as that
not counting the performance impact

I bet gnome-shell is probably more tasking than that desktop lol

first that is a windows desktop because of the windows sign on the start button but i don't think that is relevant much.
But I would like to see some DL link for this because it looks promising

as in that isn't his desktop and he's just looking for something similar

i forgot, i updated it to 16 i think

is there a specific name for that? the windows version?
try searching for that + "linux alternative" or "linux version" or just "linux"

Search for "Linux 3D desktop".

Why don't you use KDE desktop

It's like five jillion times better.

Not sure if it works for Linux, but I use Bumptop. It's not quit what you are thinking of but it does make your desktop 100x better. It renders it as a box so you can hang items on the wall or ceiling. It's really nice for organization, and quick access. It also has free form selection of items, and you can just start type in the game of what you want to select. So you could just type "Min" and hit enter, to boot up Minecraft.
