How do you pronounce Doge?

Except it's not supposed to be proper grammar, so pronouncing it like "doggy" makes more sense than pronouncing it like "dough-j".

With that logic, on the reverse, pronouncing it correctly makes it incorrect from the standpoint of pronouncing it "doggy", which would be better because it's more incorrect??/?

I always pronounced it Doggy or Dougie.  To say it like Dohje is like if you said it with Italian phonetics, Dogge.
