well that's simple lol. I thought you had to make it yourself

looks like this might be the first open world project to finish, which is nice. i like driving vehicles over long distances in servers.

its a shame the cube map ruins it though. in my opinion crappy generated cube terrain isnt worth exploring. i handmake my terrain, and fill it with secrets and interesting features. you can spend the same amount of time exploring a handbuilt 64x64 map as you can a 764x764 generated map.

Yeah I don't like how its made out of cubes either. Terrain bricks would be a lot smoother and better. Also, Generated terrain is boring to go through because theres nothing new to stumble upon in the terrain. Its literally just repetitive boring terrain.

Cities and buildings done! Woot!
The brickcount came out at about 280,000 bricks.
I don't think a detailed terrain really is an option here..

looped
Sentry stop trying to describe things and fail. It's not looped at all.

um that doesn't make his post any less valid. it's repetitive and boring--- it's generated but it all looks the same. he might've used the wrong term but you know what he meant. don't pretend to be stupid.

You're missing the point completely. I don't care that you may have your own opinion on what you would like to have as a map.
I care if you start lying to try to make your opinion seem better.

How did he lie to make his opinion better? He said it's looped, as in sections are repeated multiple times. In all effect, He was agreeing with Zeal

tbh if the map is what the pictures in the op look like, it's pretty repetitive, i don't know, is there other pictures?

Except that is untrue, sections don't necessarily repeat themselves. Just because it is made of modter doesn't mean it is looped everywhere, areas are different.

Get out of the topic with this stuff already, generated terrain can be re-edited to have secrets or be the same as hand-built terrain in many ways. Sure it won't look as nice to you, but to me it adds a unique style. It gets the job done.

For anybody else that is saying the modter makes it bad:
If you are just going to keep giving personal opinions on why the map is bad to you then don't post on here. I've already explained why the map was generated and it's benefits from it. It's faster, efficient, and doesn't look terrible to the majority of the people who will play on it.

Hand building it is only a suggestion, it isn't necessarily a requirement at this point.
It would be pointless while already ahead to go back and hand build it.

On a more important note: We're working on making the gamemode playable. Still a few bugs, but being worked out.

With the terrain being the way it is currently, People are just going to be jumping over and over.

Thanks, I did use the wrong term.

Why bother editing your post to "fix it" (remove "looped") after someone has already quoted it?

So that for future reference it will be correct.
The modify button is there for a reason you know...

I got a recent idea. Whenever we finish the mod and it's playable, why not have one server with this type of generated terrain and then another one with hand-built terrain only smaller? Sounds like a good idea to me.

That way, those who are picky can choose between the two.

I don't think that would be a good idea. The larger the player-base, the better for this kinds of open world servers. Doing this would split the potential players to two groups playing on a different world
