Author Topic: So I got a Macbook for film school, heres my review of it  (Read 1667 times)

the PC equivalent would be like 500 bucks.
This.
But let's be fair here, he received it for free for a film school. Macs are better for workstations so if it's for film-related programs it's completely legitimate. The PC equivalent of a Mac workstation would cost a lot more than that.
However..., that you want to play CS:GO with a PS3 controller on a Mac...
What is wrong with you?

It's not free if you have to buy it lol.

Yeah but for some aspects of media, Windows can't really provide.  A shame that there has to be choices.

It's not free if you have to buy it lol.
Oh. Re-read. I thought he received it from school.
Yeah this was a relatively stupid decision then. :D

I hope you enjoy your new computer! I have used Macintosh since I was a kid, and since then I've always preferred Apple's more organized user interface.

I needed Final Cut Pro and it's OS X only software.
Adobe/Vegas is not my cup of tea.

...? They use a lot of the same stuff though? I could go and buy all the computer parts necessary to build our iMac...

My next laptop will definitely be a MacBook. Not because I like Mac or like blowing excess money for no reason, but because I'd rather be that guy sitting in Starbucks writing a paper on his Mac than that creepy guy on his ThinkPad with full gamer headset on with one hand already down his pants scratching his balls with a box of dessert cake and no coffee.

lol thinkpad

if you wanna show off your laptop at starbucks use something like an asus g73

i dont see any apple product using apple brand hardware. unless you just count the case lol
does apple even MAKE cpus, ram, video cards? throughout history i dont think they ever have. they just use pc stuff and put an apple os on it. call it a special computer. make it rounded and shiney and pretty.

then use office and adobe products (from pc) anyways, because even apple knows the apple equivalent of those things sucks.

yeah their computer components are the exact same as a normal PC, except they only like to use intel for some reason

as for their phones almost literally everything in it is made by samsung. like it's not even funny, screen, cpu, ram, mobo, all samsung produced

talking about something like you know it, while you really don't lol

Macs are pretty good but as other forumers have mentioned, it can't play all of the games PCs can. Other than that, I think I prefer Apple's OS over Windows. It just feels faster and smoother.

I don't know why people are so against Macbooks, my only real issue with them is:

Lots of games aren't made for Mac so I'd have an issue not being able to play a lot of games until/if they're compatible.
They are overpriced as hell.

Other than that they seem to have better quality than most Laptops, of course what you're paying for it, it had better be.

I have a macbook and I can play ( so far ) all of my PC steam games via Winebottler. (For example I can play Far Cry 2 with max settings and have around 45 FPS) It runs fantastically and has a good frame-rate. I'm very impressed compared to a PC, it's so much more organized and simplistic, and it's really good for my DJing and EDM production.

so your goal is to basically have a PC and windows. you just explained that.

but your mommy and daddy have a Mac and you have no options to do otherwise.

so you will toss on some 3rd party software to half ass it up. because paying more to do the same end goal as everyone else is logical in any way.

you apple people try way to hard

emulating stuff is nothing to be proud of. like those jail breaking clowns. just loving buy electronics that can do what you need. having to jump hoops and do everything the hard way just makes you look like a fool.
