The 'using big words' part is what is stupid. The whole euphoric thing is loving handicapped, some kid just posted about his contempt for religion and it spawned this flood of people calling everyone who uses big words or complicated concepts 'euphoric' and sarcastically tipping fedoras at them.

Error is pretty much unacceptable. Excluding the scenarios where errors result in discoveries, errors are pretty much universally a bad thing. Since if you ended up with a worthwhile discovery you wouldn't be being shamed, those are pretty much irrelevant. Not telling someone about an error they made is like not telling someone that they have tons of food stuck in their teeth-- it's going to be really embarrassing later when somebody else notices.
