Author Topic: Fridge Brick  (Read 11403 times)

This is a single brick that uses the default door events to change layout. Manipulate the set events to change the look of your fridge! Activate it to switch between the default two layouts. If you change the event to
Code: [Select]
onActivate -> self -> door -> ToggleCCWyou will get a third fridge layout.
Using this concept I may make an entire kitchen brick pack, which may include things like cabinets that change design when you click them, or frying pans that will have eggs or omelettes appear when you click :)

Enjoy!

So fridge orientation is dictated by set events?
Why not just have three seperate bricks?

why take up three brick slots while you can just have this? if i were to do that i would make them openable but that would just be a huge waste of time considering you wouldn't be able to build food inside of them.

i hate having to scroll down tons to find a certain brick i want.

I don't really like these.

They extend out of the grid a bit, are very tall, and they don't open. They also look quite plain.

Good try.

If they were on the water brick level you could build food inside them. I hadn't thought of that, and I think it would be a good addition in conjunction to the food brick pack.
It's just weird to think that an event can change brick layout. Haven't seen it heard if that before.

hey also look quite plain.

Sorry if a fridge is too plain.

But if you do get them on grid, I think they are very nice.

once again opening it would be useless because you can't build your own food, and if i did make them have properties of water bricks so you COULD build inside of them, it would be difficult to have the right collision for the shelving considering a max of 10 collision boxes are allowed, and most of them already use 3 for the collision of handles and such. it would also be incredibly hard for the stuff to actually look like food that you build, unless you use food bricks. you would just have an opening fridge that you can't do anything with. it's pointless and wouldn't add anything to a build.
have you ever stood next to a fridge? in terms of a 5'8" tall or so person, it's somewhat proportionate.
and, "Good try."
really? you do realize how cynical you sound, right? just because you don't like it personally doesnt mean you can officially declare it an attempt and not a full product.

im not usually the person to defend myself against criticism but honestly you make no sense.

also it is on grid. it is 6 bricks tall and 4x4 if you include the part that contains the handle and a bit of the fridge door overhang.

I mean it could be a bit more detailed, like the old fridge prop.

I was just saying it's okay.

This can look bad if bricks surround it.

the old fridge prop doesnt even look like a fridge. the doors are smaller than the base of the fridge and the base part is way too high. other than those two things, they're basically the same except the old fridge is beveled to death.

cute idea, but there's really no reason that it shouldn't be multiple bricks

Could you survive a nuke in it?

I took a look at the prop fridge again, and you're right about that.

This however still could use some more detail.

Aren't those leetzeros handles?

Aren't those leetzeros handles?
im sorry did leetzero trademark that incredibly simplistic handle design.

it's just a handle. yeah it looks like leetzero's because that's what basic handles look like.
