Author Topic: Advice for Incoming Freshmen  (Read 6247 times)

I am currently in the eighth-grade and I will be going to high-school in the fall. I don't really know what to expect from high-school since I don't have friends or siblings who are currently in high-school. Does anyone have any advice for incoming Freshmen?

do your homework and get straight A's since grades in high school are much more important than people will tell you.

freshman year is super important

Freshman year is your most important. How you do in freshman years will determine your sucess in highschool.

i think senior and junior are more important, they pose a bigger impact.

They matter about as much as the first year. Having a nice 'trend' is good, but the more important thing is your cumulative high school GPA, which is just an arithmetic average of the grades you got all four years of high school.

seniors and juniors will pick on you constantly and sophomores will ignore you

your classmates wont have your back and get used to having your stuff stolen or vandalized.

teachers try to break students so be prepared for detentions and the occasional suspension and a ton of homework

I always did homework in middle-school and as a result I usually got A's and the occasional B. The teachers that I had usually gave us well over an hour of homework. The guidance counselors at the high-school were surprised when we said it was common for us to get 2 hours of homework a night. So I'm hoping that we won't get as much homework as we did in middle-school but I know that is probably very unlikely.

totally go in with the "dont care what people think of me just do my thing and not give a forget" cause then u will have it made in high school

if you dont make friends with chill people you'll forever burn and die

people will talk stuff about you for years to come
