Author Topic: So I'm back. What has changed in the last 5 years?  (Read 3296 times)

Wow. Thats lovey. Can you change how long the day cycle is?
Yes, you can also make your own day and night cycles by opening up the DayCycle_Default (or any other DayCycle file) zip archive and opening the DAYCYCLE file with a program like Notepad

A user made cycle i recommend using for your server or for editing is Eksi's, it's got better colors for the day and night

Also I don't know why people left over a silly thing like maps.
A lot of people really liked the Bedroom map, but they also liked a lot of the user made maps, they gave the player a bunch of areas to explore, terrains and various shapes vehicles and skis could handle better than bricks, and a lot of them looked really nice and had a lot of hard work put into them

So once all of that was rid of, a lot of people couldn't take just dealing with a flat and boring environment, and some felt like they didn't get anything after that because their computers couldn't handle the shaders too well or at all

I do miss those old maps and such, but i'm fine with what we have now

and I have a strange feeling that you are making this up to seem a veteran.
5 years ago was 2009.

lots of new default stuff, like speedkarts and gamemodes, as you probably have already noted
default bot system that functions a lot better than previous systems but still lack nodepoints. good thing though is that basic zombies are now default.
community has matured and seems to be entering a stage of very slow decline, based on the fact that I have yet to note an influx of new players who contribute a lot.

RTB is shutting down and a replacement is in development
very few new servers are really being successful. naming your server "cabn zomb survivla" gets you more players than "Homestead Zomb Survival"
bones4 came back and is working on his best titanic yet; nearly done too.
badspot is trying to detach himself from developing blockland by fixing it to a stage where mod makers can carry the rest of the work.

I recently turned 14 and I function in society pretty well? I think it is pretty safe to say that unless your a sub 12 you can no longer use your age as an excuse for your dysfunction in society.

ANYWAY Furdle is our supreme overlord, RTB is dead, shaders replaced terrain/interiors, kompressor's snake crushed badspot with it's 1.3 million metric tons of flesh, Rotondo is part of Step 1 which is Badspot's game company, and Badspot still has over 3 terrabytes of tentacle hentai stored in the Blockland Installer.

we rounded up all the 10yo's and had them killed.

otherwise its pretty much the same here.

Furdle is still the supreme douche of Blockland.

Badspot still has over 3 terrabytes of tentacle hentai stored in the Blockland Installer.
what

Shaders & Shadows at the expense of sacrificing Interiors and Terrain for them
lots of new mods
gamemode system
Blockland on steam & blink bundle
BL_ID's are now in the 90000's
RTB shutting down
All of these are true, but I heard RTB is going back online on August 1

You're bluffing. Is it really or are you just bullstuffting us?

What has changed: Average IQ. For the worse I am afraid.

Ephilates screwed over RTB, so...

Ephilates screwed over RTB, so...

um, screwed over?

he kind of made it

um, screwed over?

he kind of made it
I believe it was confirmed before that the original RTB was not initially developed by elipitats.

This thread is full, to the brim, with autism.

Blockland has changed, in many ways, for the better. The whole reason that people tend to think that Blockland has gotten worse is that five+ years ago all the flaws of the game were masked by a wall of stuff. Further development of the game removed the wall of stuff but at that point, for some reason, everyone liked the illustrious stuff wall.

This isn't to say I don't miss the way Blockland used to be, if only for the sake of nostalgia I do look back on it fondly; but to be brutally honest this game has changed for the better and is taking even more steps in the correct direction.
