Author Topic: Psychopath calls cops on me saying I attacked her car  (Read 4907 times)

motherforgeter NWA did forget the police, not the insane clown pussies!

get yo facts straight!

man ICP can't forget with da police, de outta their league dawg!

you just say "i don't want to talk about it"
you can not be required to testify against yourself, but they can force you to testify against someone else

You're also a horrible citizen.
I don't know, maybe you think that. And the rest of the people on this forums, you'd be surprised how good of a citizen I actually am. Taking my time to help people and such, showing respect everywhere I go, etc etc.

Alyx gives awful advice, and he's an awful person for not wanting to help upon witnessing a crime.
I have my reasons.

1. If you need to cover up for your friend in a serious situation, you might need new friends. Besides, it could most likely be obstruction of justice if its serious enough, which is a crime in itself and invalidates you being a law abiding citizen
2. Yeah because I totally don't want to see justice served. Also a possible crime if you refer to #1

Sure they might be valid reasons if you are a lazy person. Also, we don't live under fascism yet, so there isn't any outrageous criminal laws in which I would change my opinions on these
If the friend murdered someone than yea it makes sense to tell. If its something petty than I wouldn't rat them out.

Second one, I have my reasons on why I don't want to get involved in that stuff.

helping people sucks.

if you call an ambulance for someone you might get stuck with a 5k bill. (its happened to people)
if you give CPR and the guy still dies, his family might sue you.
if you are CPR certified and don't give CPR at all possible times in public, you can be sued for NOT doing it.
if you have to break a car window to see if an unconscious person is alive or not, their insurance company can come after you for it.
if you offer a ride to just about anyone, there are a million reasons you can be arrested for it.

its easier to say forget everyone else Lol.

I would help a friend cover up a murder :D
we would be dragging a hookers body out into the woods together.

I had a friend who was a lifeguard, and we all used to pretend to be choking in public just to forget with her

Whats funny is all this is true. Its easier to just get out right there and then.

if you saw a serious crime like a murder or rape or something, not acting as a witness is the most morally wrong thing you could possibly do
if you're really afraid of the person who did it finding you or whatever, witness protection exists for a reason
if you give CPR and the guy still dies, his family might sue you.
if you are CPR certified and don't give CPR at all possible times in public, you can be sued for NOT doing it.
there are laws against the first one
as for the second, you can be sued for any number of things, it doesn't mean they'll win

seriously?

saw thread title for a sec and thought it was related to Electro's "i'm scared" thread

Ever heard of Good Samarit-

Beat me to it.
Anyways, I'd suggest judging the risk based on your own local laws, as Good Samaritan Laws vary throughout the US.

Most families don't pull lawsuit bullstuff unless you make the problem MUCH worse.
Or they're richards who didn't care about the life, just the money.
Or they're poor and loving desperate.
W/e.

i was there. his dad refused to take off the brass knuckles... didn't really help

wouldn't really hurt either though, the most that it would do is cause some extra cracked ribs, and that was assuming you actually performed CPR with your fists, which you don't

I got certified with CPR, I know you don't just beat the guys chest to make him breath
