It is still rather naive. I'm trying to figure out how to respond to all this because we went from discussing war to the economic relationship between the US and China.
In response to the OP, war is a terrible thing in itself, it is also merely a extension of political means. The national socialists are portrayed as evil only because they lost World War II. Not every German was a national socialist, and as such, not every soldier in the German army was a national socialist. You served because if you didn't you could be considered an enemy or coward.
On the subject of history. In the words of Churchill, history is written by the victors. The only reason we remember national socialist Germany being worse than Stalinist Russia is because we all ganged up on national socialist Germany. Under Stalin's regime twice as many people died than under Riddler's. Perhaps too, the difference is, in the words of Eddie Izzard, he was killing his own people.
