Avatar uploading broken?

Avatar uploading has been ~99.97% broken since Badspot switched to Cloudflare. Either, you get an error, or absolutely nothing happens and you start seeing weird old avatars or ones you haven't even applied, or 50% of people see the avatar you switched to and other people see no avatar at all.

my avatar will change after a day or two when its just an image, but gifs change automatically.

I was able to change it to this crude 2.5KB avatar yesterday but now every time I've tried changing it to a better version, even at 2.0KB, it either gives me an error or does nothing at all :I
there's no way at this point that badspot isn't aware of the problems
