Do you count the operating system I'm writing in my free time?

Is linux mint debian based or just linux mint?

Is linux mint debian based or just linux mint?

linux mint is ubuntu based, and ubuntu is debian based

Do you count the operating system I'm writing in my free time?

I've got no idea what LMFS is so I'm gonna go ahead and say it isn't.

Windows XP SP3, Simple, Reliable, and pretty good in general

Oops, correction: I meant to say LFS.

But yeah, LFS is Linux From Scratch. Just kinda assumed it was that because I know nothing else about OS development outside of that.

It's not LFS, but it is loosely designed around how linux works. Very loosely.

So does it have the linux kernel or did you make an entirely new one

That's actually pretty cool. How far into it are you?

Entirely new kernel.

Well, it depends what you consider finished. It's never going to be a full OS like *nix or Windows, but if I compared it to those it'd be a fraction of a percent done. If I compare it to a more reasonable goal which at this moment is building it as a server platform, maybe 5-10%.

What's it going to be called?

What's it going to be called?
That's the million dollar question, isn't it.

By finished I meant usable, I guess. But yeah if you're saying 5-10% I'm guessing you started recently? Where do you even start?

That's the million dollar question, isn't it.
call it

"operational system"
